Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who was last seen in Singham Again, is questioning the authorities in the Maharashtra administration over their failure to curb air pollution in the entertainment capital of the country. On Thursday, the actress took to the Stories section of her Instagram and shared the AQI data of the city. The picture shows the average AQI of Mumbai to be around 150.

Deepika posted a screengrab of Mumbai`s pollution levels. Expressing concern about the situation in the city, the actor wrote that the people living in Mumbai, especially children, are struggling to breathe due to the worsening air quality. Her post read, “The citizens of this city and its children are choking! How is this okay!? @my_bmc | @mybmchealth please help!”
Deepika’s strong stance also comes from her being a mother to Dua, her daughter with Ranveer Singh. Dua was born on September 8, 2024.
Before Deepika Padukone, Sonakshi Sinha had also expressed concern. She took to her Instagram Stories and shared the view from her window. The skyline was partially obscured due to a thick layer of smog. Expressing her concern about the air quality in Mumbai, the actress wrote, “This is where the sealink is supposed to be. Can’t see it because of the pollution. Doomsday is here. Wake up Mumbai… before it’s too late.”

On the work front, Deepika Padukone was last seen in the 2024 film Singham Again, where she shared screen space with Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and others.
The actress will next be seen in Shah Rukh Khan`s upcoming film King, which is expected to release in theatres on December 24, 2026. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, Raghav Juyal, and Abhay Verma.
Apart from that, she is also part of filmmaker Atlee`s Telugu action film, tentatively titled AA22xA6, which also stars Allu Arjun. As per the latest reports, the film’s title will be revealed on the icon star’s birthday. For those unversed, Deepika was in the news after she spoke about long working hours in the industry and was dropped from Spirit and Kalki 2.
