Amaal, whose song Yeh Awarapan recently featured in the Emraan Hashmi-starrer Awarapan 2, assured fans that he is doing okay but needs time away from the demands of film music. “I am all good and I will go all the way in, this time, to do what is best for me and only do what is important to my heart and for my health,” he wrote.

Explaining his decision, the music composer said he needs a break for his “mind, body, soul and overall physical healing”. He added that he wants to “rise, recuperate and bounce back soon with a heart full of melodies” for his fans, whom he affectionately calls Amaalians.
The Bigg Boss 19 contestant further revealed that he will not be composing new songs for films until next year. However, he clarified that some of his previously unreleased movie songs may still make their way to audiences if the films they were created for eventually release.
Amaal explained that several of those projects are smaller-budget films made with good intentions but often struggle to find theatrical screens. As a result, he said he remains unsure about the future of those films and when, or if, the unreleased songs will finally see the light of day.
Requesting fans to give him space during this period, Amaal wrote, “Please request you not to pester me any further. Will update as I get to know.”
In a particularly emotional sign-off, he reflected on his journey so far, writing, “My journey from music to cinema has taken me a long way; now, I’m starting to head back towards music… Bid me farewell now, I’ll be back. Anyway, signing off for a bit…” Amaal Mallik had previously said he doesn’t dwell on failed songs.
He ended the note with a reference to his latest work, calling himself “The Creator of Yeh Awarapan”.
Fans rally behind Amaal Mallik
Soon after his announcement, fans flooded the comments section with messages of support. While many admitted they would miss his music, they urged the composer to take all the time he needs to rest and recover.

One fan reminded him that his health should come before everything else, while another assured Amaal that his supporters would be waiting whenever he feels ready to return.
For now, Amaal Mallik is pressing pause on film music, but if his note is anything to go by, this is not goodbye. The composer has promised to bounce back, hopefully with a heart full of melodies and a little more peace to go with them.
