After shattering theatrical records and making history with its OTT viewership, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar The Revenge (2026) is now set to make its television premiere. The Aditya Dhar-directed film, however, has received major cuts from the CBFC ahead of its TV premiere.
Dhurandhar The Revenge TV premiere to get 45-50 cuts
Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which was released in March this year, is all set to air on Star Gold on Sunday, October 18, at 7:00 pm. Given that the film was originally certified ‘A’ for its theatrical release, the makers had to submit the film to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) once again. Consequently, they were asked to make the necessary modifications to make it television-friendly and suitable for younger viewers.
Accordingly, the CBFC has reportedly passed the film with a U/A 16+ certificate on September 24. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the film had to go through several cuts ahead of TV premiere. A trade source told the portal, “The makers were asked to make 45 to 50 cuts. Almost all the modifications pertained to the extremely violent and gory scenes.”
The source further added, “The makers, however, have smoothly edited out the disturbing scenes in such a way that the impact of the film stayed intact.”
After the changes were made, the CBFC has approved the television premiere of Dhurandhar The Revenge. According to the CBFC website, the U/A 16+ TV version has a duration of 219 minutes and 6 seconds, which means that the revised version is 3 hours, 39 minutes and 6 seconds long.
Notably, the theatrical version of the film had a runtime of 229.6 minutes, which translates to 3 hours, 49 minutes and 6 seconds. This indicates that the revised version of Dhurandhar The Revenge is set to be 10 minutes shorter.
