Ramayana: Ranbir Kapoor breaks silence on trolling and criticism

Ranbir Kapoor, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming epic Ramayana, has broken his silence on the online trolling surrounding his upcoming film. The actor said that he chooses not to be bothered by social media comments. He added that what matters more is the support of people who understand his work, intentions and kindness. This comes after the film’s music composer AR Rahman earlier reacted to the criticism around the songs of Ramayana.
Ranbir Kapoor adresses trolling
During a recent conversation with over 18,000 students from across the country, Ranbir said, “I think what is relevant today is also the beauty of trolling online. It goes back to the old song, ‘Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna.’ I think that’s the great philosophy to actually follow. You don’t get bothered by what people are saying.”

Talking About Online Trolling, Ranbir Said:- “I believe in the philosophy of ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Logon Ka Kaam Hai Kehna!’ Don’t let the noise bother you. If your intentions are right and your hard work and dedication are honest, let your work do the talking.” https://t.co/ucNtb2j3bx

He further added that he choses to value the opinions of people who genuinely care about him and his work. “What matters is the people. People who care for you, your work, intention, kindness, and I guess that’s what matters the most,” he said.
This comes amid the criticism that the songs of the film have been facing online. Notably, Ranbir was also subjected to scrutiny recently after a slip of the tongue at a Ramayana event in Kolkata during Dussehra. He later apologised for the gaffe in Chennai.
AR Rahman reacted to the criticism around Ramayana songs
Earlier, composer AR Rahman had reacted to the criticism around Ramayana son. He told Hindustan Times, “We do so much work, filtration, ideation, and iteration that there’s no energy left to look at feedback! We just put it out because it’s been tried and tested so much. My son keeps telling me, ‘This is what they said yesterday, now they’re apologising…’ I say fine, I’ve done my work sincerely and hope people celebrate it.”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a two-part adaptation of the Hindu mythological epic. Apart from Ranbir as Lord Ram, it also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Yash as Ravana. The film’s first instalment is set to release in theatres on November 5, 2026.
