Hanuman Ansh, which earlier faced OTT rejections, is the story of Lakshminarayan, a young man who loses his mother and starts searching for answers about God, life and death. His search eventually takes him across North India, where he attempts to make sense of human suffering and the larger questions of existence. This spiritual journey leads to Lakshminarayan’s transformation into Neem Karoli Baba, a spiritual guru, whose teachings continue to inspire devotees across the globe.
The film features Shobhinaw Satyaa in the lead role alongside Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas Patel.
Hanuman Ansh’s box office run
Hanuman Ansh collected Rs 342.44 crore net and Rs 452.86 crore gross worldwide, according to Sacnilk. The film witnessed a slow start and was in fact, written off after its first two weeks in theatres. It opened at a meagre Rs 10 lakh and earned barely Rs 1.50 crore in its first two weeks.
However, positive word of mouth took over, and the ticket sales surprisingly shot up. After its fourth week, Hanuman Ansh earned over Rs 60 crore in net at the Indian box office each week. By its eighth week, the film had crossed the rs 300-crore mark at the domestic box office, a feat fewer than 25 Hindi films have managed before.
Over its run, Hanuman Ansh managed to surpass the lifetime box office hauls of several pan-India films, including Vijay’s Jana Nayagan (Rs 324 crore), Yash’s Toxic (Rs 341 crore) and Ram Charan’s Peddi (Rs 342 crore). Meanwhile, there are talks going on for a sequel of the film.
