Actor Priyanka Chopra has opened up about leaving Hindi cinema at the peak of her career to explore opportunities in Hollywood in 2016. Speaking on a podcast, she admitted the move came during a challenging phase for her in Bollywood. “Nothing is an easy ride. When life gets tough, you pick yourself up, take a moment to feel the pain, and then pivot,” she said. Priyanka said that her move was also inspired by the global presence of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her friend Mindy Kaling. “There were very few Indian actors in American pop culture, and I wanted to understand why,” she added.
