As the anticipation around Ramayana grows, fans have been eagerly awaiting the slightest update on Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus ahead of its release. While the Ramayana trailer has already left the internet wanting more, a new behind-the-scenes video from the sets is now going viral on the internet. The new video from the sets shows Yash and Vivek Oberoi working together on the sets during a reading session with director Nitesh Tiwari. Their camaraderie and bonding have also caught the eyes of the fans.

The new viral video shows Vivek and Yash greeting each other and later posing together on the sets of Ramayana. The two are seen dressed in comfortable athleisure outfits for the reading session. Notably, while Yash plays Ravana in Ramayana, Vivek will be seen in the role of Vidyutjihva in the film. Vidyutjihva was the Danava prince from the Kalakeya clan and the husband of Ravana’s sister, Shurpanakha. The trailer hints at an intense face-off battle between Ravana and Vidyutjihva, where he eventually kills Vivek Oberoi’s character.
Ramayana release date
Notably, Ramayana Part 1 was earlier announced for a Diwali release without a specific date. However, the makers recently released the English trailer, which confirmed November 6, 2026, as the global release date for the film. The announcement led to confusion among Indian audiences, since Diwali falls on November 8 this year.
However, producer Namit Malhotra, while speaking to NDTV during the inauguration of Prime Focus Studio’s Phase 1 at Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari in Mumbai, cleared the air around the release strategy. “It (Ramayana) will release in India on Diwali,” he said.
Addressing the difference between the international and Indian dates, the producer explained, “We are releasing internationally (on November 6) because the international distribution works from a Friday standpoint, which is the 6th of November. But (in) India, currently, we are targeting the Diwali release.”
Thus, as per the release strategy, Ramayana will release in international markets on Friday, November 6, before Indian theatres on Sunday, November 8, coinciding with Diwali.
