VIBE teaser: Kunal Kemmu takes on a mission he never asked for

What happens when two regular guys suddenly find themselves responsible for saving the country? Complete chaos, if the teaser of VIBE is anything to go by. Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first teaser for the upcoming action-comedy, marking Kunal Kemmu’s latest outing as a writer-director. Starring Kemmu alongside Preity G Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and debutant Vanshika Dhir, VIBE promises a madcap mix of action, comedy and two very unlikely heroes.
An accidental mission
At the centre of VIBE are Hardik, played by Kunal Kemmu, and Bugs, portrayed by Sparsh Shrivastava. Neither seems remotely interested in playing hero, and neither appears particularly prepared for the job either. But when the nation faces a threat, the duo somehow finds themselves right in the middle of a mission that is much bigger than anything they bargained for.

The teaser gives a glimpse of the two friends being thrown headfirst into danger as they navigate a series of increasingly chaotic situations. From high-speed pursuits to explosive action sequences, Hardik and Bugs appear to be making their way through the mission with more confusion than confidence.
And just when they think things cannot get any more complicated, Preity G Zinta’s character enters the picture. Cool, commanding and clearly in control, she appears to be the one pulling the strings while the two accidental heroes try to keep up.
Chaos meets comedy
The teaser leans heavily into the contrast between its action-packed setting and the complete lack of preparedness of its central duo. One moment there are explosions and dangerous chases; the next, Hardik and Bugs are left trying to figure out exactly what they have gotten themselves into.
With Preity bringing a commanding boss-lady presence to the mix, the film also marks an exciting big-screen collaboration for the ensemble. The cast includes Vanshika Dhir, who makes her debut with the film, while Dinesh Lal Yadav and Yashpal Sharma appear in pivotal roles.
Written and directed by Kunal Kemmu, VIBE is produced by Kemmu and Chirag Nihalani under the banner of Drongo Films. After exploring comedy as an actor and filmmaker, Kemmu now appears ready to take things up several notches with a story that blends humour with high-stakes action. Whether Hardik and Bugs manage to become the heroes the country needs remains to be seen, but one thing is certain, their journey is unlikely to be a smooth one. VIBE releases in theatres on September 18. This film marks Preity’s second outing after her recent release Batwara 1947 alongside Sunny Deol.
