Have You Heard? Deepika Padukone to join Brahmastra 2

Reunion for the ages
Deepika Padukone could be the latest addition to Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra 2’, with the actor reportedly in discussions to play Amruta, a key character in the Astraverse. The film will be a sequel ‘Brahmāstra: Part One — Shiva’. Ranbir Kapoor will reprise Shiva and Dev in the sequel and is expected to begin filming in April 2027, after wrapping ‘Ramayana: Part 2’. Alia Bhatt will also return as Isha. Scripting and pre-production are underway, with Deepika’s casting yet to be finalised. The casting would reunite Deepika and Ranbir on screen for the first time since ‘Tamasha’ (2015).
From romance to reel-life. ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ (2008)  Their first film together, around the time they were dating. ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ (2013)  They reunited on screen after their relationship had ended. ‘Tamasha’ (2015)  Their third collaboration, which saw them play former lovers navigating a complicated relationship. ‘Brahmastra 2’ (2027, expected) If Deepika comes on board, it will mark their fourth film together
‘Awarapan 3’ in the works?

The success of Awarapan 2 has sparked speculation about a third instalment, with writer Bilal Siddiqui hinting that plans are underway. Bilal said the team is discussing the possibility of taking Emraan Hashmi’s character, Shivam Pandit, forward, adding, “Plans are there.” Emraan had also recently teased fans about Awarapan 3, saying, “Hopefully, Awarapan 3 very soon.” The sequel has crossed ‘150 crore worldwide, becoming the actor’s biggest solo hit to date.
All okay, Prabhas?

Prabhas’s orthopaedic surgeon has sparked concern among fans after sharing a picture with the actor on social media, and highlighting the “private sacrifices” behind his success. Apollo Hospital’s Dr KJ Reddy, who has reportedly been treating the actor, wrote, “It has been a pleasure knowing Prabhas and being entrusted with taking care of his health.” Fans flooded the comments asking if he was alright. Prabhas has reportedly battled recurring knee issues and undergone surgeries.
What’s next for Prabhas?Prabhas has a packed slate ahead with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Spirit’ with Triptii Dimri, and Hanu Raghavapudi’s ‘Fauzi’ currently in the works. He will also return as Bhairava in Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ (2024) sequel

Shahid Kapoor has reportedly stepped away from the Indian adaptation of Freaky Friday (2003), we have learnt, as the actor reassesses his upcoming slate. According to Filmfare, the move comes amid a more selective approach to projects following the mixed commercial response to some of his recent releases. O’Romeo had a muted theatrical run, while Cocktail 2 also received a mixed response in cinemas before finding renewed attention following its Netflix release. Shahid’s exit from the adaptation reportedly reflects his focus on projects offering stronger theatrical potential and a wider audience connect.
