Actor Anupam Kher was recently dragged into a controversy after a BJP leader allegedly made remarks about the actor`s hair. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Samik Bhattacharya was taking a jibe at the Trinamool Congress`s (TMC) setback in the West Bengal elections 2026.
Anupam Kher reacts to BJP leader`s comment
Samik Bhattacharya said, “Anupam Kher ke sir pe phir se baal ug sakta hai, lekin Trinamool Congress satta me aaye ye ho hi nahi sakta (Anupam Kher’s hair can grow back again, but the Trinamool Congress coming to power is simply not possible).”
Bhattacharya further doubled down on his criticism of the TMC, saying, “Aasman jameen pe aa sakta hai, samundar aasman pe chadh sakta hai, Anupam Kher ke sir pe phir se baal aa ug sakta hai, lekin Trinamool Congress satta me aaye ho hi nahi sakta hai.” While the remark was essentially a light-hearted political poke and was not meant to be taken literally, the mention of Anupam Kher`s name quickly drew attention and even prompted the actor to respond.
Anupam Kher reshared the video on his social media and wrote, “Arre bhaiya ji! Maine aapka kya bigaada hai! Kyun aap chahte ho ki mere sir par baal aa jaayein!” He further went on to jokingly add, “Maujooda halaat mein janmon tak nahi chaahunga! Jai Shri Ram!”
Soon after Anupam`s reply, fans began reacting to the post, praising him for his spirit. One user commented, “He loves you, sir,” while another joked, “What an amazing example has been given.”
Anupam Kher congratulated Vijay
Meanwhile, Anupam Kher has often been vocal about his political stance on social media. After the recent electoral win of actor-turned-politician Vijay in Tamil Nadu, Anupam wrote on X, “Congratulations to actorvijay on this remarkable victory in Tamil Nadu. A win of this scale is never accidental—it is a victory of conviction, connection, and the trust of the people.” Further highlighting Tamil Nadu’s long tradition of cinema icons transitioning into leaders, he called it “immense public love.”
“To command such mass following and translate it into a decisive mandate speaks volumes about your journey and your bond with the people,” he wrote before concluding by wishing Vijay strength, wisdom, and creativity to serve the state.
