Cricketer Virat Kohli`s team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), won the Indian Premier League title for the second time in a row. His wife, actor Anushka Sharma, was also present at the match, cheering for the team from the stands. Following the victory, the couple was seen celebrating together. While their display of affection was widely appreciated by fans, Anushka has now found herself at the centre of an online debate.
Anushka`s spiritual endorsements get slammed
After the IPL 2026 victory, Virat and Anushka were seen visiting their spiritual guru, Premanand Maharaj, in Vrindavan. Reportedly, they met the guru in his private chamber at the ashram and were photographed while leaving on Tuesday evening. The couple frequently visits the ashram to seek blessings.
However, what sparked discussion online was Anushka`s mobile wallpaper. As she returned to Mumbai after the visit, paparazzi videos captured her phone screen, which appeared to feature Premanand Maharaj. Many social media users were surprised by the actor`s spiritual inclination. In recent months, Anushka has also been spotted wearing a tulsi mala and holding a jap counter.
Reacting to the wallpaper, one user wrote, “Still can`t believe Anushka Sharma did PK and learnt nothing.”
Another commented, “Anushka is wrong number,” referencing a popular dialogue from PK.
Several users also criticised Anushka for allegedly promoting homeopathy through her Instagram Stories.
One user wrote, “Totally unexpected from an educated lady like Anushka Sharma. Can`t believe it.”
Another commented, “Saw Anushka`s story, blood-boiling stuff. She promotes homeopathy despite having such a large following.”
A third user wrote, “Virat Kohli`s wife, Anushka Sharma, is recommending homeopathy to Indians. Fraud babas are not enough; she is now promoting unscientific medicine to Indians.”
used to admire Anushka sharma sm for years but now it really hurts seeing her normalize obsession over self proclaimed babas for someone with such influence. Being spiritual is one thing but treating a fraud baba like a divine figure is so disappointing wtf is wrong with you nush

About PK
In the 2014 film PK, Anushka Sharma played a journalist who helps an alien, portrayed by Aamir Khan, return to his home planet. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film is a satirical take on superstition and self-proclaimed godmen.
Khan plays an alien sent to Earth on a research mission. After losing the remote device used to contact his spaceship, he is advised to seek God`s help, prompting him to question organised religion and blind faith through a nationwide movement.
