Did Ranbir Kapoor accidentally confirm Ramayana 3? Fans speculate

Ranbir Kapoor fans may want to pay close attention to his latest interview! While the actor has been sharing updates about his much-anticipated film Ramayana, one of his recent statements has sparked curiosity about whether the epic could extend beyond the planned two-part instalment. Ranbir will essay the role of Lord Rama in Ramayana: Rise Of A Legend. The film also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Made on a staggering budget of Rs 4,000 crore, the mythological spectacle is touted to be one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema.
Did Ranbir Kapoor accidentally reveal Ramayana 3?
In a recent interview with Review Nation, Ranbir talked about his experience of working on the film and shared a surprising update about the sequel. He revealed that he has already wrapped up half of his work on the second instalment. However, it was his next statement that truly grabbed everyone’s attention.
Ranbir said, “I have finished 50 per cent of part two already. We are in the process of shooting it already. Even when we finish part two or part three, if there is one. I don’t think this will ever leave us. This is an opportunity of a lifetime, irrespective of what the result is. It is not career-defining but life-defining.”
The mention of a possible third instalment was enough to spark excitement among fans. While some fans were thrilled by the possibility of the epic being unfolded across three films, others wondered that Ranbir had unintentionally revealed something he wasn’t supposed to! One user joked, “Ranbir the spoiler Kapoor is back.” Another commented, “But they could easily have trimmed that specific part, but I wonder they didn’t.”
Drawing a comparison with Hollywood star Tom Holland, who is infamous for accidentally revealing movie spoilers, another fan wrote, “Tom Holland of Bollywood.”
Namit Malhotra on Ramayana 3 plans
Producer Namit Malhotra had also talked about the potential of a third film at the recent LA premiere of Ramayana. He revealed the makers had initially decided to showcase the story in three instalments. However, the plans later changed, and they decided to make it a two-part epic.
Interestingly, Namit has not completely denied the possibility of adding one more part in the future. In a conversation with international media, he said, “I’m not going to give any spoilers for anything – but you know, who knows the way, once we get all the response and all the feedback, we may sit back at the table and the drawing board and see if there is anything else that we want to add or subtract, depending on how the world has received it.”
Ramayana Part 1 is slated to release in theatres worldwide on November 5, 2026, ahead of Diwali. The second part is scheduled for a Diwali 2027 release.
