Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt recently moved into their ancestral home, Krishna Raj Kapoor Bungalow. The six-storey residence also has a floor where Neetu Kapoor lives, along with a dedicated room for Riddhima Kapoor. Neetu Kapoor has now opened up about maintaining healthy boundaries with her children after marriage, revealing why she chooses not to interfere in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s personal life.
Neetu Kapoor on not interfering in Ranbir-Alia’s life
During a conversation with Soha Ali Khan, Kapoor said, “I feel once your children get married, you have to leave them alone. I live in the same building as my children, but I don’t just go over whenever I want. I want to give them their space.”
“I don’t want them to feel that their mother is always sitting there. Their privacy is their privacy. I don’t interfere. Even Raha comes to me whenever she is free; I don’t go there unannounced,” Neetu Kapoor added.

The veteran actress recalled, “When Riddhima got married, I used to tell Rishi ji not to call her every day. I said, ‘Now Riddhima is married, Bharat is there too, you can’t keep calling all the time. Let her be. You have to move away a little.’ He used to say, ‘I call her whenever I want, I call Bharat also.’ I used to tell him, ‘What are you doing? It’s okay to call sometimes, but don’t call them all the time. They also have a life, don’t be on their head all the time.’”
Neetu Kapoor on Alia’s parenting
Neetu also humorously revealed that she often has playful disagreements with Alia over pampering Raha. She shared, “I am always fighting with her, saying, ‘Alia, at least let me give her one chocolate.’ But she says, ‘No, can’t you understand sugar is not good for her?’ I tell her, ‘It’s okay, I am the grandmother, let me spoil her.’”
Further praising Alia’s parenting style, Neetu Kapoor called her a disciplinarian mom and shared how Ranbir is like a friend to Raha.
Neetu Kapoor’s recent movie
The actress recently starred in Ashish R Mohan’s Daadi Ki Shaadi. The film, also starring Kapil Sharma, Sadia Khateeb, and Riddhima Kapoor, shows how protagonist Kapil Sharma’s wedding is put into jeopardy after the grandmother of his would-be bride decides to tie the knot herself with a mysterious man.
