Paresh Rawal confirms Govinda`s exit from Bhagam Bhag 2: `We`ll miss him`

Released in 2006, Bhagam Bhag turned into a laugh riot with its chaotic comedy and memorable performances. Now, as the sequel gears up to go on floors, a major casting change has grabbed attention. Paresh Rawal has confirmed that Manoj Bajpayee will replace Govinda in Bhagam Bhag 2, while also revealing that he will be seen in a double role in the upcoming comedy entertainer.

In an interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Rawal opened up about Akshay Kumar and Manoj joining hands as the male leads and said, “It’ll make for a different and unique combination.” The veteran actor then also added, “However, we’ll miss Govinda.” When asked why Govinda isn’t a part of Bhagam Bhag 2, Paresh Rawal replied, “I have genuinely no idea.”
Paresh Rawal also confirmed an exclusive development to the portal. The actor said that he would feature in a double role in Bhagam Bhag 2. He revealed, “I am excited. Maza aayega. Dhamaal hoga!”
This is not the first time that Paresh Rawal will play dual roles in a film. He has earlier played dual roles in Platform (1993), Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Janam Kundli (1995), and Chor Machaye Shor (2002).

As per a report in Variety, “Manoj Bajpayee has joined Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in Bhagam Bhag 2. He has been brought on board in place of Govinda. The sequel is said to have a fresh storyline centred on mistaken identities, comedy of errors, and escalating chaos, delivering a thrilling madcap adventure while staying true to the spirit of the original. Shooting begins next month in Mumbai.”
Bhagam Bhag 2 marks the Hindi theatrical film debut of Meenakshi Chaudhary; her other Hindi film, Upstarts (2019), was directly released on Netflix. While the original 2006 film was directed by Priyadarshan, Bhagam Bhag 2 will be helmed by Raaj Shaandilyaa of Dream Girl (2019) fame.

Workwise, the veteran actor will be seen in Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla alongside Akshay Kumar, Tabu, Asrani, Wamiqa Gabbi, and many others. The film is all set to release in April 2026. Apart from this, he is rumoured to reprise the role of Baburao in Hera Pheri 3. However, the film is currently in legal soup. Additionally, he will also be seen in Welcome To The Jungle, which will arrive in theatres by year-end.
