Tara Sutaria reveals dyscalculia diagnosis, says father helps her with finances

Tara Sutaria has opened up about living with dyscalculia, a learning disability that can make it difficult for people to understand and process numbers. The actor recently spoke about her diagnosis and how it affects her ability to manage finances, while also highlighting the support she receives from her family and professional team.
In a conversation about financial literacy with Hautterfly, Tara revealed that handling numbers has always been challenging for her. She explained that her condition makes certain aspects of managing money particularly difficult, including dealing with finances and investments.

Tara who was recently seen in Toxic, said she considers herself fortunate to have a strong support system. “I am lucky because my dad helps me with my finances,” she said, acknowledging the important role her father plays in helping her navigate financial matters.
Tara also shared that she relies on her accounts team to assist her with her financial affairs. While dyscalculia can affect her comfort with numbers, the actor has found ways to manage the practical aspects of her finances with the help of people she trusts.
Her candid revelation sheds light on a learning disability that is often less understood than conditions such as dyslexia. Dyscalculia primarily affects numerical comprehension and can make everyday tasks involving calculations, numbers and financial management more challenging. The actress shared, “I try and understand as much as I can, but I have a learning disability, a maths learning disability. It is called dyscalculia. I try, but more often than not I make a mistake. I need my team. My accounts team looks into every detail.”

She even shared about her investment portfolio, “have a diverse portfolio. I am learning as I go. These are conversations I have with my friends, who have the best understanding, I love homes and I love investing in that.”
Despite the challenges posed by dyscalculia, Tara has successfully built a career in the Hindi film industry and continues to take on new professional opportunities. Her recent work includes Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups, in which she has been receiving attention for her performance.
