Watch: Gold shankha gifted to Ramayana fans at SDCC 2026 goes viral online

The excitement surrounding Ramayana has only intensified following its grand showcase at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026. While Indian audiences continue to wait for the film’s official trailer release, attendees at the international event were treated to an exclusive preview and a unique keepsake that has now become the talk of social media. A viral unboxing video has revealed that guests at the presentation received an intricately designed gold-coloured shankha (conch shell) as a commemorative gift.
A look at the stunning gift fans received from Ramayana team
The now-viral clip features a fan opening a gift bag received at the special Ramayana preview. Inside was a pink presentation box adorned with a lotus motif. As she lifted the lid, she revealed a beautifully crafted gold-coloured shankha accompanied by a note from the Ramayana team. The fan admired the elegant packaging and described the souvenir as a thoughtful tribute to the film’s spiritual roots.

The accompanying note explained the symbolism behind the gift, describing the shankha as a representation of Indian heritage that harmonises energy and signals new beginnings. It further stated that the souvenir celebrates the timeless journey and teachings of Lord Rama, whose ideals continue to shape Indian culture and values even today. The detailed craftsmanship of the conch shell, inspired by the epic, also drew praise online, with many calling it one of the most unique promotional gifts handed out at a film event.
The exclusive presentation at SDCC generated considerable buzz, especially after the makers postponed the trailer’s planned worldwide digital launch. Producer Namit Malhotra announced that while the film’s Comic-Con showcase would go ahead as scheduled, the global trailer release had been deferred following the announcement of the film’s international partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. He also said the team wanted to launch the trailer globally at a later date.
All about the film
Despite the postponement, Ramayana continued to dominate conversations online, with the souvenir video adding to the anticipation surrounding the ambitious mythological epic. However, some reports have noted that while the unboxing clip has gone viral, the authenticity of claims regarding the gifts being officially distributed to attendees has not been independently verified.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as Ravana. Sunny Deol essays the role of Hanuman, while Ravie Dubey plays Lakshman. The makers have confirmed that Ramayana: Part 1 will release during Diwali 2026, followed by Ramayana: Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
