Welcome To The Jungle: Akshay Kumar`s fun anecdote of 90s with Raveena Tandon

The trailer launch of Welcome To The Jungle turned into a nostalgic trip down memory lane as Akshay Kumar shared a humorous behind-the-scenes story involving his longtime co-star Raveena Tandon. The actor recalled how things were very different during their early years in Bollywood, especially when it came to shooting conditions and on-set facilities.

Speaking at the event, Akshay reflected on a song shoot from the 1990s, revealing that actors often had to work without the comforts available today. Recalling one particular incident involving Raveena, he said, “Back then, there were no vanity vans. We used to change costumes wherever we could.”
The actor went on to narrate how Raveena once had to use a generator van as a makeshift changing room while they were filming outdoors. “Raveena changed inside a generator van. That was our vanity van,” he said, drawing laughter from the audience. The anecdote highlighted the challenges actors faced while shooting on location during that era.
Akshay explained that despite the lack of facilities, actors remained committed to their work and adapted to whatever circumstances came their way. “We never complained. We just carried on with the shoot because that was the only option available to us,” he shared.
The story also sparked fond memories among the cast members present at the event. Raveena, who is reuniting with Akshay in Welcome To The Jungle, appeared amused by the recollection. Their on-screen pairing was one of the most popular of the 1990s, with films like Mohra, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, and Barood making them fan favourites.
Akshay further pointed out how much the film industry has evolved over the years. “Today, every actor has a vanity van with all kinds of facilities. Things are much more comfortable now,” he remarked. He added that younger actors may find it difficult to imagine the conditions under which films were made decades ago.

Welcome To The Jungle, directed by Ahmed Khan, features a massive ensemble cast and is slated for a theatrical release on June 26. The film marks another collaboration between Akshay Kumar and several of his longtime industry colleagues, adding a strong dose of nostalgia to the comedy entertainer.
