Watch: Salman Khan hugs sister Arpita as she performs aarti, ties rakhi

Many Bollywood celebs were seen celebrating the auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan on Friday, August 28, 2026. Among them was Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who celebrated the festival with his sisters, Alvira and Arpita. Following the celebrations at Alvira’s home, Arpita shared glimpses from the festivities on social media. 
Arpita Khan ties rakhi to Salman Khan
Taking to Instagram Stories, Arpita shared a series of photos and videos from the celebrations at her home. In one of the videos she shared, she can be seen applying tilak on Salman Khan’s forehead before performing his aarti, as he patiently stands. She then tied a rakhi, a symbolic thread signifying the bond of protection between a brother and sister, around his wrist. She then feeds him sweets, following which the brother-sister duo share a warm hug.

Arpita also shared pictures and videos of the family’s kids celebrating the festival. One of the videos showed her daughter, Ayat, tying a rakhi to Arbaaz Khan’s son, Arhaan. Alvira Agnihotri, along woth her kids, Alizeh and Ayaan, as well as Sohail Khan’s son, Nirvaan, were also seen in the pictures and videos.
Salman Khan flaunts his rakhis
Earlier in the day, Salman was also spotted at Alvira Khan Agnihotri’s home on Friday. After he stepped out, he posed for the paparazzi stationed outside. While posing for the cameras, the actor also flaunted the rakhis tied on his wrist by his sisters. 
Salman wore a maroon T-shirt, paired with blue jeans and a cowboy hat for the occasion. Salman’s younger brother, actor and filmmaker Sohail Khan’s son, Nirvaan Khan, was also spotted at Alvira’s home.
On the work front, Salman is gearing up for the release of his upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, which was previously called Battle of Galwan. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film is a cinematic adaptation of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. It is baked by Salman Khan Films, and also stars Chitrangda Singh as the female lead.
Addtionally, Salman will also be returning as the host the upcoming season of his popular reality show, Bigg Boss 20.
