Kangana Ranaut recalls facing witch hunt: `Was accused of doing black magic`

Kangana Ranaut has never shied away from making bold statements or sharing her unfiltered views. In a recent interview, she opened up about her ugly split with Adhyayan Suman, after which she faced a witch-hunt, as she was accused of practising black magic.
Kangana Ranaut on facing witch-hunt
In a recent podcast conversation with ANI, Ranaut shared that she was branded a “witch” and accused of dark practices. She recounted, “My ex filed a case against me, and on top of that, some people stood up and said she`s a witch, she drinks blood, she does black magic. So there was a witch-hunt,” the actor said.
Adhyayan and Kangana dated around 2008–09, when they worked together on Raaz 2. However, the case was filed later, in 2015. Recalling the time, Kangana said, “There was evident and very apparent witch-hunting happening at that time, and I was hardly 26 or 27 years old. So when this is how they`re going to treat me, why should I make them look good? I have no reason to make them look good.”
Ranaut added that her conviction in her work allowed her to tune out criticism, and she realised that she “does not give a damn about them.”
Kangana Ranaut on Karan Johar
Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut, who had once described Karan Johar as the “flagbearer of nepotism,” has now offered a fresh perspective on the filmmaker, stating she does not view him as a “bad person.”
“I don`t think Karan Johar is a bad person. You know, I think he`s very proudly just superficial, flaky, flashy. He likes that. He`s very proud of that, and I think he has an amazing sense of humour. So I don`t think I have a problem with Karan Johar as such,” she said.
The Queen actress also revisited a formative moment from her early days in the film industry, recalling how Salman Khan once encouraged her to meet filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
On the work front, she was last seen in Emergency, a film she also directed, portraying former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. A four-time National Award winner and Padma Shri recipient, she currently serves as a Member of Parliament from Mandi.
